The innovative mechanical dividing head is a new feature to the ZeroClamp modular system. It allows all simple 3-axis machines to be upgraded to a productive multi-side machining system.

Why?
In contrast to traditional solutions, this dividing head can be mounted with a full complement of serial parts in a minimal amount of time.

Here’s an example: During the day, qualified operators take care of complex tasks. Shortly before finishing time, the operator mounts the divider, the end bering and the clamping beam with work pieces already clamped.A procedure that takes only a few minutes, now the automated machine will process the work unattended for several hours and at almost no cost

The function of the dividing head is extremely simple:
A pin, or a suitable tool in the milling spindle, locks into the hole plate.
A movement in Z- releases the pin which then moves in a circle or an arc is completed on the X-Y plane. In this case, 30° movement on the hole plate corresponds to a 2.5° movement of the devider spindle. Then, the devider moves in Z+ direction so that the indexer locks again.
